Bailleul

Nestled in the Flanders Hills, Bailleul is a fine example of a town that is typically Flemish in character. Its private houses and public buildings have fine façades with Gothic windows and stepped gables. The belfry and town hall, restored after the First World War, dominated the skyline in the town centre.
Bailleul is also famous for its lace and bobbinlace, and has one of the few Schools of Lace in the department. The tourist office has marked a number of history trails, and a list of First World War cemeteries is also available.
